Enjoy life! Have a slice of birthday cake and treat yourself to a
burger every now and then.
When you deny yourself all of

life’s indulgences you will set yourself up for weight loss
failure. But be smart: have a small piece of the cake and forego
Fries with that burger!
Deciding whether to treat yourself during a diet or instead sticking
only to the diet plan can be a difficult choice. Studies prove that
treating yourself during a diet can not only help you achieve greater
weight loss but will also increase motivation for diet, preventing
decrease in metabolism, and help eliminate binging.
Did you know that the adaptation theory mentioned in previous post
applies to nutrition as well?
Well take a while guess, yes it does! If
one continues to eat the same foods everyday for a prolonged time
the body will adapt and slow down weight loss progress secondary
to a decrease in metabolic rate. Therefore having a tasty treat or
cheat snack in one or twice a week in your diet plan will actually
enhance ability to accomplish long term fitness goals.
One of the most diet demolishing act most people deal with is binge
eating.
Binge eating is when a person has a craving to eat something
and refuse to eat it at that moment but supplements that hunger with
eating a lot of healthy food or vice versa causing an increase in calorie
consumption which cause weight gain.
To prevent the binge effect you should eat what you are craving in little amounts.
I recommend implementing a cheat snack or two a week once you are confident in your power to follow your diet plan clean. The caveat is to punish yourself with extra cardio time
after treating yourself, this will cause negative association with eating cheat
snacks mentally preventing frequent cravings meanwhile burning excess calories!
